If God truly loved humans...why not reveal himself ? So that they could make an informed decision ?
by smiddy inwe learn from the bible that god spoke to adam ,then certain faithful ones,then after moses only the preisthood that was established,and individuals, raised as prophets,and this by the way is only a a small select group on the planet.never mind about other groups of humans.
fastforward to the era of christ ,again, god is only dealing with a small select group to advise and admonish.during the time from moses to christ he was only dealing with what became one small nation.the rest of humankind were left to their own devices.fastforward down to this 21st century we have no guidance/instruction/prophets to instruct or guide us.
( i know this is where jw`s would say but we have been preaching & teaching you god`s truths since 1879 ) all i can say their, is take your head out of the sand and look at all the changes ,corrections adjustments,re-adjustments,reversals,and failed expectations of prophecy you have published over this last century )so as to my question why hasn`t the god of the universe revealed himself to all humans of every race on all continents instead of just a small select group, if he truly was interested in the human race.

by Scully indoes anyone know if it is common practice for jws to take down or remove photos of dfd or dad family members within their homes?.
if so, is there any basis for this practice within wt literaturetm?
or is it simply a matter of "going beyond the things written" in order to hurt and disrespect the target, and extended family members who have close ties to the target?.

I think my parents feel the same, they are being sooo nice to me it's scary, but they do not communicate much in regards to my current beliefs.. they know I have a problem with disfellowshiping and 1914, still its better than being an bathtised ex-jw.

Revelations was written for the Roman empire in mind and 666 for anyone familiar with numerology means neron ceasar.

BurnTheShips - Regarding the creation accounts in Genesis 1 and 2 you still can't say that there are no differences, if I said that I am Tom then I said I am Dick who am I? Which one?
in Hebrew the wording and writing style are different, also both chapters use different names for God.
So Are animals created before humans?
Are plants created before humans or afterward?
Is “man” the first living creature to be created or the last?
Is woman created at the same time as man or separately?
Even within each story there are problems: if “light” was created on the first day of creation in Genesis 1, how is it that the sun, moon, and stars were not created until the fourth day? Where was the light coming from, if not the sun, moon, and stars? And how could there be an “evening and morning” on each of the fi rst three days if there was no sun?
I have heard the reasoning before, the ESV study bible and the Macquarie bible dictionary try to buff all these issues but involves a lot of human reasoning and blind faith to the point that we can't let the bible speak for itself.

DJ: I didn't elaborate because I didnt have much time, but putting words in my mouth is just childish, most of my reasoning comes from the book Insight Of The Scriptures and Gentile Times Reconsidered. Scripture proves that 587BCE was the date, without any secular dating (with the exception of 537BCE which is in harmony with also the WT teaching of 537BCE).
I wont elaborate now but I will say that the Gentile rule began about 20 years before Jerusalem was destroyed because the bible spoke of 70 years of servitude (to the king) and not 70 years of exile.

Sapphy: John which apparently was not th same John, wrote revelations and initialy some did not accept it as part of the canon, Revelations was not written by some hardcore LSD muncher, it was written in the same manner as Daniel and Enoch.

The thing is it doesn't contradict the bible, because it did occur 70 years of servitude not destruction, all the references in Jeremiah and Daniel point to 587BCE and 607BCE is impossible to reconcille.

Sisters no allowed in KH period!
by life is to short ini just found out during the elders school sisters are not allowed in the kh for any reason.
i have a girlfriend that i became really close to when i was at bethel.
we really were as close as real sisters, in fact i am still closer to her then my own flesh and blood jw sister but with my leaving the jw's it has been hard, she does not have a clue about my true feelings of this cult, i have tried to throw points out to her and she will not get them, she will not let her mind go there.. .
